2011

it's 2011!!!!
can you believe it? time sure flies by.  I always thought that I would be stuck as a teenager but slowly,
I have become an adult.  It's actually kind of scary to face the reality.

As I get older, sometimes I feel lost as if I am in the middle of no where.
I realize my regrets and learn from my mistakes hoping to make a better choice next time.

This year, I hope I learn to love myself more than others.  I don't mean it in a selfish way.
I hope to learn new things and become more knowlegeable
I hope to reflect more often.
I hope to become more caring and loving towards others.
and lastly, I hope to stay strong and true to myself.

Happy new year!

pop-up books

JEUX T'AIME.

pop up book for adults

amazing creativity.

Christmas

I came home yesterday and oddly, I felt out of place!! It's probably because I 've stayed at the dorm for so long that the campus is slowly becoming my home.  It was good to come home and eat some of my mom's home cooked meals.  I almost forgot how awesome her cooking skills are.

It's Christmas today but it doesn't feel like Christmas at all.  I finished my exams quite late and I haven't been outside UBC for about a month.  When I went to the mall, I was shocked at the holiday spirit and felt kinda sad because I still had one more exam to go.  Sadly, I still can't get into the holiday mood but I have a feeling that I will try until school starts which means listening to tons of carols!  But before that, I should get rid of my cold first.  (I have no clue how I got sick.. this is the 3rd time his winter!)

I've been thinking of taking another language course at UBC.  I was going to tak Italian, but it kind of seems like it won't be as useful compared to Spanish.  So I am debating between the two.. but I guess I have plenty of time to decide.

I've only got about 9 days until school starts and my plan is to hang out with my high school friends (Paula is coming back!!!), do some reading, try knitting, shopping, possibly baking, and I better start my textbook shopping as well.

Merry Christmas! and stay warm!!!

today

Always wanted to try this restaurant!
Something different from my ordinary outings where I usually end up in
a Japanese restaurant.

enchillada w/ mole sauce
the sauce wasn't very good
appetizer that comes with every meal
i loved the salsa! it's hella spicy!
 Mulitas with chicken
it wasn't so bad but i thought it tasted just like a quesadilla

My experince at Don guacamole's wasn't as good as what i expected
but i cannot forget the taste of the salsa!!!

thenn i went to conbiniya and got some snacks :)
im becoming addicted to those caramel covered treats!
they are so crunchy and not too sweet !

always on drugs

is spongebob always on drugs?

my favourite book

Congratulations!
Today is your day.
You’re off to Great Places!
You’re off and away!

You have brains in your head.
You have feet in your shoes.
You can steer yourself any direction you choose.
You’re on your own. And you know what you know.
And YOU are the guy who’ll decide where to go.

You won’t lag behind, because you’ll have the speed.
You’ll pass the whole gang and you’ll soon take the lead.
Wherever you fly, you’ll be best of the best.
Wherever you go, you will top all the rest.

Except when you don’t.
Because, sometimes, you won’t.
I’m sorry to say so but, sadly, it’s true that Bang-ups and Hang-ups can happen to you.

And when you’re in a Slump, you’re not in for much fun.
Un-slumping yourself is not easily done.

You will come to a place where the streets are not marked.
Some windows are lighted. But mostly they’re darked.
A place you could sprain both your elbow and chin!
Do you dare to stay out? Do you dare to go in?
How much can you lose? How much can you win?

And if you go in, should you turn left or
 right…or right-and-three-quarters?
Or, maybe, not quite? Or go around back and sneak in from behind?
Simple it’s not, I’m afraid you will find,
for a mind-maker-upper to make up his mind.

You can get so confused that you’ll start in to race down long wiggled roads at a break-necking pace
and grind on for miles across weirdish wild space, headed, I fear, toward a most useless place.

The Waiting Place…for people just waiting.

Waiting for a train to go or a bus to come,
or a plane to go or the mail to come,
or the rain to go or the phone to ring,
or the snow to snow or
waiting around for a Yes or No or waiting for their hair to grow.
Everyone is just waiting.

No! That’s not for you!

Somehow you’ll escape all that waiting and staying.
You’ll find the bright places where Boom Bands are playing.
With banner flip-flapping, once more you’ll ride high! Ready for anything under the sky.
Ready because you’re that kind of a guy!

You’ll get mixed up, of course, as you already know.
You’ll get mixed up with many strange birds as you go.
So be sure when you step.
Step with care and great tact and remember that Life’s a Great Balancing Act.
Just never forget to be dexterous and deft.
And never mix up your right foot with your left.

 And will you succeed?
Yes! You will, indeed!
(98 and ¾ percent guaranteed.)

Kid, you’ll move mountains!
So…be your name Buxbaum or Bixby or Bray or
Mordecai Ale Van Allen O’Shea, you’re off to Great Places!

Today is your day!
Your mountain is waiting.
So…get on your way!

This isn't the whole book ! I tried to cut out some of the stuff
that were important but a lot of it is not on here.  So the story might not be as fluid.

Anyways..I first found out about this book at a program called Shad Valley in grade 11.
One of the professor read this book to us and the level of depth in a children's book
was quite surprising to me. (kids probably just read it for the pictures..)
I absolutely love this book and I personally have one of my own and I think
it's a great present for someone who is graduating.

it makes me smile to read it sometimes :)

misty

This song reminds me of highscool.
I think  I first heard it.. in grade 11 when our band went to Ottawa for the national festival (great memories).  The trio from my school played this song as their ballad and it just blew me away.  I think I almost got teary and it was definitely one of the most beautiful thing I have heard in my life.  It was truly ineffable.  Too bad I can't find a comparison that is as good as the one I heard in Ottawa.

but here are som great musicians playin Misty

tra la la

"no slowing down cause she aint got time"

this song should be my motto  hahah

and..

i definitely need some new songs...!
i haven't downloaded new songs since... the start of summer
and i DEFINITELY need a new phone!.. I dropped my phone so many times and it's
totally screwed up now.  I can't hear anything when I pick up a call so what I have to do..
is bang the phone on whatever surface i see.  Magically, i can hear afterwards ! haha..
you can imagine how silly I look on the streets ..!

people, please stop lining for the iphone :(!

me?

I've been thinking lately..

What makes me, me?  Am I happy with what I have become?
What should I do to improve? What are the things that I need to work on?

questions and questions.
